SPECIAL LIGHTCAST
– February Dreaming

Of all the months, February is the month of dreams. At the beginning of the month, the festival of Imbolc celebrates the soft return of the inner light, and in the northern hemisphere, the first little spring flowers bravely peek their heads above the parapet and test the winter sunlight. We know the sun is returning but we can’t yet see it, so like the groundhog, we usually just want to go back to bed and dream of sunny climes. Then comes Valentines’ day and with it more dreams – dreams of lovers gone by and lovers still to come…

For many people February is a testing month, a month to simply get through, and what a pity that would be, to turn away from this magical time. I hope therefore that the following words might act as a restorative tonic to those who need a boost during what CS Lewis once referred to as ‘the waiting room of the world’…

Quite a few people have recently asked me to define my new project the Dream Arc more clearly for them, as they are undecided as to whether they should come and try it out. This below is my response…

A PR guy recently told me that whenever you are launching a new project like the Dream Arc, you need to answer the four basic questions that the public always need to know. These questions are:

  1. What is it?

  2. What will it do for me?

  3. How long will it take?

  4. How much does it cost?

1. What is the Dream Arc?

The Dream Arc is not a thing. It is a technology designed to move information more fluidly between the deep unconscious and the waking state. That’s the short version. The long version however is much more fun:

Dream Arc is the language of the future. It is anti-logic so it cannot have any fixed system around it. It is a language we do not yet dare to try because it has not yet awoken within our DNA. It is the language of the feminine, of the right side, of enchantment. It does not follow laws derived from time and space just as dreams do not follow these laws. Everyone wants to understand their dreams. Well, to understand them, you have to enter into their territory – the realm of myth, of archetype, of fantasy, fairy tale and song. In the Dream Arc there are no longer any questions. There are only wonders and wormholes. A new kind of human being is coming into the world, and it’s emerging from the dreamtime itself. It won’t yield to our hard, probing invasive questions. It will softly unpeel itself from deep within our DNA. The Dream Arc is its language – the poetry of paradox, the murmur of music – the language of the now.

The Arc is a symbol of the infinite. It never returns but keeps on creating and creating – it is the timelessness of the dream state. It is the Arc –Type – the language of the threshold itself – it is the rainbow bridge that links together all beings and all things. As a technology, the Dream Arc has one goal – to put you to sleep – to lull your brain into a let-go with its spontaneous story-forms.
